Inspiring Arabs is an editorial platform that chronicles the people, places, and ideas reshaping the modern Arab world — from the founders building the next billion-user infrastructure to the artists, scholars, and operators preserving heritage in a hyper-connected century.
What we do
We publish four streams of original journalism:
- Feature Stories — long-form profiles and explainers about Arab identity, history, and innovation.
- Recognition Lists — annual rankings of regional leaders, founders, businesses, and creators, selected through a transparent editorial methodology.
- Regional Guides — country and city guides for living, working, and starting up across the Arab world.
- Culture & Heritage — essays on calligraphy, cinema, architecture, and the cultural undercurrents that shape the modern Arab imagination.
Why it matters
The story of the Arab world has historically been told from the outside. Inspiring Arabs is a counter-archive — built by writers, editors, and contributors who live the region’s questions, not just observe them. We aim to be the most reference-worthy English-language source on modern Arab life, a place journalists, students, founders, and curious readers come back to.
Where we work
We are distributed across Montréal · Beirut · Dubai · Cairo with contributors writing from the Levant, the Gulf, the Maghreb, and the diaspora.
Who reads us
Our readers are journalists, founders, academics, policy researchers, marketers, and a growing community of Arab and Arab-curious readers worldwide. Stories from Inspiring Arabs are republished across The UAE Blog, The Europe Blog, Inspiring Canadians, and the Cap.TaiM publishing network — combined reach of roughly 180,000 monthly readers.
How we’re funded
Inspiring Arabs is independent. We are not owned by a state, a sovereign fund, or a venture-backed media holding. Editorial decisions are made by the editorial team and are not for sale. There are no paid placements, no sponsored rankings, no “promoted” honorees. Where partnerships exist, they are disclosed.
