This privacy policy explains, in plain language, what data we collect when you use inspiringarab.com, how we use it, and what choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email triman@captaim.com and we’ll explain.
What we collect
- Things you give us. If you subscribe to our newsletter, send us a pitch, leave a comment, or fill out a form, we collect the information you provide (typically name and email).
- Things we collect automatically. Like most websites, we log basic technical data when you visit a page: IP address, user-agent, referring URL, time of visit, and the pages you view. This is used to understand traffic patterns and to keep the site secure.
- Cookies. We use a small number of first-party cookies to remember your consent choices and to keep you logged in if you have an account. Some pages use third-party analytics that may set their own cookies.
How we use it
- To send the newsletter and reply to messages you sent us.
- To measure aggregate traffic so we know which stories people read and where to invest editorial time.
- To prevent abuse, spam, and fraud.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not rent email lists. We do not allow advertisers to retarget you based on your reading on our site.
Who we share it with
We share data only with vendors that help us run the site — for example, our hosting provider (WP Engine), our email service provider, our analytics provider, and our content delivery network. Each is contractually bound to handle your data only for the purposes we direct, and to protect it.
We may disclose information if we are legally required to do so, or where we have a good-faith belief that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Inspiring Arabs, our readers, or the public.
How long we keep it
We keep newsletter subscriptions for as long as you remain subscribed. Comments and contact form submissions are kept for as long as the related editorial work is active. Server logs are kept for up to ninety days.
Your rights
You can:
- Unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link at the bottom of every email.
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Request that we correct or delete your personal data.
- Withdraw any consent you previously gave.
To exercise any of these rights, email triman@captaim.com. We respond within 30 days.
Children
Inspiring Arabs is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify subscribers by email.
